I revisited these landscapes with my mother in 2022: some were physically familiar while others were known only through stories, particularly those of my grandfather’s time in the mountainous North West region as a teacher in the 60s. Re-experiencing the same landscapes in different forms - words, images, memory, physically - all served as anchors my familial history and grounds my diasporic imaginings.
